The Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) will continue to focus on membership growth, development, and engagement in the pursuit of its programs and initiatives under the helm of MCCI President Stanley Go.
This was announced during the MCCI General Membership Meeting on May 24 at City Sports Club. Go was inducted president of the Chamber in January this year. Since then, MCCI has designed and organized series of events dedicated for the purpose of membership growth, development, and engagement.
Among these include the revitalized Mandaue Talks with Business, a monthly dialogue with Mandaue City Mayor Gabriel Luis “Luigi” Quisumbing to discuss and resolve issues related to the business sector.
MCCI also held various seminars relevant to the Chamber members’ growth in business, such as the Cyber Security and Data Privacy Law Seminar and Seminar on Risk Management and Business Sustainability. For its Board of Trustees, MCCI recently organized a Management by Virtues seminar facilitated by Joff Escobal, founder of Management by Virtues Consulting.
MCCI in partnership with San Miguel Brewery Inc. launched the second season of Men in Business, which aims to inspire and give second chances to men to become entrepreneurs. The Chamber is currently helping the Mandaue City government prepare for the International River Summit in November, an event that Mandaue City will be hosting and that is expected to draw in at least 1,000 local and foreign participants.
The Mandaue Chamber is a contributor to the formation of the new Minglanilla Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry whose officers attended the MCCI membership meeting. MCCI is also pursuing its plan of building the MCCI Center near the Mandaue City Library.
John King, managing director of King’s Quality Foods Inc., was appointed chairman of the 2018 Mandaue Business Month in August. He disclosed during the meeting the theme of the flagship event of the Chamber: Breaking Boundaries, Defying Limits.
Under the leadership of Go, who is the vice-president for sales and marketing of Virginia Foods Inc., the MCCI membership base grew from 300 in December 2017 to 365 in the span of just five months. During the meeting, MCCI President Emeritus Eric Ng Mendoza inducted 36 new members.
