Fellow members of the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry, esteemed guests, ladies and gentlemen, good evening.
I take this privilege to report to you the activities and accomplishments of your Chamber for the year covering June 2014 to June 2015.
These accomplishments were propelled by the spirit of volunteerism that came from the membership. No doubt, it was with your active involvement, that these activities have found fruition.
We also recognize the support of and our partnerships with various sectors such as the local governments of Mandaue City and Cebu province, the various national government agencies, the media, socio – civic groups, our fellow chambers of commerce and business organizations in Cebu, in the Visayas and in the national level, and the various corporate sponsors that help boost our projects.
I also wish to thank the Trustees, a wonderful mix of talented individuals with high quality standards who have given so much in terms of their time, ideas and for some, even loaning their resources, in order that our objectives will be met. And to our hardworking staff, at times decimated, but never unbowed, as they keep the Chamber services going at levels which are attuned to the times.
Advocacy has been a core capability of the Chamber since its inception. Advocacy is best done not by our lonesome, but In concert with other sectors. Hence, in partnership with other Chambers, organizations and agencies, we are able to help bring forth an atmosphere that is beneficial to the conduct of business and for the community as well.
The Chamber has been actively participating in efforts to help prepare schools in Mandaue City to be ready for the K-12 program. Initial talks with DepEd Mandaue were initiated by Cong. Gabriel Luis Quisumbing early last year to explore how companies can help in the preparations for the Senior High School (SHS) in the public schools in Mandaue City. Member-companies of MCCI can assist in the SHS preparations through industry immersion of teachers during summer, on-the-job trainings for SHS students, construction... More>>>
